The most outstanding monument of Jaca is its Romanesque cathedral, considered the first cathedral of this style in Spain .

The citadel ( La Ciudadela ), fortress castle of the 16th century with pentagonal shape and surrounded by a defensive ditch, was declared historical monument in 1951 and restored in 1968. Also both the Town Hall as a sample of the Aragonese plateresque style and the Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj) of gothic style have a high cultural value.

This rich artistic heritage, together with its strategic geographical location make this city to be part of the well known the Way of St. James.

Few kilometres away there is the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña , magnificent Romanesque monument built under the rock and pantheon of the first kings of the Crown of Aragon.
